Post subject: uk nissan micra cutting out

please can anyone help. i have a 1998 micra 1.3 sr.
pulled onto my drive last night and was working fine. i tried to start it this morning and it cut out after three to four seconds and the engine management light flashing. tried it a few times and the same fault repeated.
