| i have 98 accent, the transmission has been acting funny for a while. feels sluggish when shifting, when i go into over drive it is like putting the car in neutral, i have to let the rpm's go all the way down then it will go into overdrive, then it started doing that going from 2nd to third. the car feels like it is in a hard pull all the time like there is something holding it back. trans fluid is at right level, brown looking but at right level. now couple days ago i lost 2nd gear, overdrive, and reverse. i can pull out in drive and rod it until the rpm gauge gets very high and then let off the accelerator, and sometime it will shift from 1st to 3rd (drive). one more thing before when i was driving and push the gas pedal instead of going into the 2nd gear passing gear it would just go as if it were in neutral till the rpm's got low and go back into drive, anyone have any suggestions on this, any input would be greatly appreciated, cause i am at the point to inviting some friends over and using the car to make a bon fire. thanks in advance.

| Hi, first of all you should flush your fluid and replace the oil filter. Those tranny are realy tender and the oil quality is very important before any diagnostic could be made by any mechanic. Who knows maybe with fresh fluid and a new filter you might be able to save your tranny! Good luck!
