I'm not too familiar with the turbo model of this car, but I would have a
look at the electronic module that provides the spark (the non-turbo model
has a cap ad rotor...SIMPLE!)

You didn't say what year; here is a link for an '87 TSRM. There is also
one for a '90 but it doesn't appear to be accesible at this time. Google
TSRM and some links will come up.

PS: Here's a link to an on-line PDF. You have to download it, but it sure
is handy. It's for a '90, but the MKIIIs are all pretty similar.

It's kind of hard to tell, but are any other systems working? When you
turn the key to "ON" does the dash light up?

Also, where did you get the engine? If you have a Japanese spec engine,
you may have to replace the harness (er, if you didn't). Most connections
are the same, but a few of the sensors are different. I think you need a
different ECM, too, but I'm not sure.

This is also a good resource primarily for MKIIIs :
http://www.supras.com/06/main/index.php

There is a lot of stuff available right there, and also a mail group is
available. If you can, I would suggest creating a new e-mail address,
either through your ISP or on something like Yahoo or Gmail, since there
is a fair amount of traffic from these guys. You have to sign up for
e-mail access, and it may take a couple days.

There are some *REALLY* knowledgable people here and will be able to give
you better advice about a GTE than I can!

Start by checking the coil's primary voltage. If the car has a distributor,
check to see if the distributor shaft is rotating.
