| ok im getting ready to start the sawzall and cut this thing up for scrap its got me so frustrated,i have this 86 1.8 subaru wagon,i was driving and broke a timing belt (left bank) i hadnt ever experienced this and my mind told me something was wrong with the distributer drive as the thing wouldnt spin, anyhow, got new belts, put em on the way they very vaguely explain it in these terrible chiltons manuals.that is both cams (marks) at the top with the flywheel in the 3 marks showing thru the hole,ok i havent mentioned that i pulled the dist in my haste and of course didnt mark it,now the best i can get is maybe the 2 and 4 cylinders are firing, but it wont even start, any help please greatly appreciated,is it possible the cams are not on the correct stroke? how can i find tdc and time this blasted thing,it was a great car up until this crap.....please help,im dumb i know
