my 4runner tailgate window wont go down

the tailgate window on 92 4runner wont go down and i cant open the gate
unless the window is down. i press the button to raise the window and you
hear a sound, but if you press the switch to lower the window you hear
nothing. how can get the window to go down.

I would start by checkimg the window switch. If it works in the up
position and not the down position it could be just a bad switch.
