This might sound nutty. I am building a 37 chevy chopped top 2 door sedan
and I want to put 37 ford headlights on it. I have a pair of 37 ford
headlight buckets and short of finding a 37 ford fender I need to find
someplace that would have drawings and dimensions of the headlight area the
bucket would attach to. I have some 39 pontiac headlight buckets that are
big enough to lean the ford buckets into but need the ford mounting
dimensions. Can anybody recommend a source of this type of information?
It's ok to tell me I'm nuts but my imagination thinks this will be cool.

Tony

Hi Tony,

I'm not sure how the Ford dimensions will help you since the fenders are
shaped differently and fender to grill and fender to body mounting are
completely different. If you are talking about the angle that they set
into the fender, I'm not aware of any dimensions available for that
unless you can get someone to make a cardboard profile pattern through
the center of their headlight and send it to you. It would have to
extend into the fender above and below. I would do it but I have a '36
so I can't help you out there.

yea everything is different. I want to make a pattern of the piece the
headlight bucket attaches to. This will get grafted into the 39 headlight
buckets and mostly sit above the fender. I will have to fab sheetmetal to
make it look right. I probably need to find a 37 ford fender in the Dallas
Tx area I can make a pattern off of. thanks!

No problem, Tony.

If you could find a fender that would make it a lot easier. Depending on
how big of a hurry you are in, The Pate swap meet will be April 27th -
30th at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Bet there will be one or
two there. A buddy of mine and I are going to drive down from Iowa for it.
