Post subject: seat ibiza 1.6 sport year 2000

recently when i start my car it struggles while idling, the revs are usually just below 1000 and spike irratically below 500 and back up again and at times stalls, there is no abnormal engine noise or anything like and as soon as i have been driving for about 10 minutes it is absoloutly fine.

anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

cheers for the help
