Is there a good newsgroup where questions about auto maintenance can be asked
(in this case, a question about battery charging)?

Thanks for any help.

This one can be, although it's not a very active group. What kind of
car is it, there may be a group devoted to that make, I regularly
participate in a Jeep and a Studebaker newsgroup.

What kind of problem are you having?

I have a Neon that doesn't get driven much anymore. About 10 miles a week.

I just had a new battery installed and wondered if trickle charging it
(2amp) a couple of hours every week would cause a problem.

Thanks for asking.

Jack

Jack,

No, that shouldn't bother it at all, not sure about that charger but you
can probably just leave it on all the time, there are battery chargers
just made to keep a battery used so little charged (Maintenance chargers).

When you do drive the car you should drive it at least long enough to
make sure the engine is throughly warmed up, otherwise it's going to
start sludging up.
