Post subject: removing engine from 57 chevy bel air
Archived from groups: alt>autos>antique (more info?)

Hi,

I am helping my neighbor removing the engine from his Chevy 57 with a
small block V8. We are stuck.

1. The top starter bolt cannot be removed, it is wedged against a
metal piece and how did it get there any way?
2. Is it easier to remove the engine/tranny combined? If so, where is
the best place the disconnect the drive train?
3. What kind of socket do I need to turn the crankshaft by hand.

Thanks,
M
