purpose of MarkL 0-5v O2 mod ?

could someone explain the purpose of the MarcLamond O2 0-5v
modification ?

i understand what he is doing i just could not understand or see
any statement toward the reason / purpose / why ?

does it improve performance ? is it just for monitoring the O2
data ? does it fix a problem with hondas design ?

just wondering if it is something i would want to try ?
