pajero 2.8td cuts out when cold

Post subject: pajero 2.8td cuts out when cold

i own pajero 2.8td 1994 problems usualy when cold in mornings. revs die
black smoke then it cuts out.starts again after turning over a few times
then seems to be fine for the rest of the day, till next morning,sometimes
oil light dont come on when first turn key,been serviced recently, could
anyone give me any ideas what the problem could be and parts needed

Not familiar with your model, but the symptoms (hard cold start and lots of
black smoke - running too rich) suggest you might have a flooded engine,
possibly from a leaking injector. You might be able to see if this is the
case by checking fuel line pressure in the AM after sitting all night. I'd
also look at the obvious stuff as well: spark plugs, ignition wires, air
filter, throttle body, and injectors.

thanks bob,
spoke to someone at milner 4x4 specialize in imports and pointed out
diaphram on top of fuel filter draws fuel back to tank overnight because
split or damaged, thus when driving .25 miles + runs out of fuel then
starts again ok for rest of day till following morning . I hope this helps
other people with same common problem on pajero's
