What do you mean by "the original Corvette"?
They're all Corvettes. All 6 generations.
As to which one is more collectable than another, that would depend
entirely upon the collectors taste in collectable cars.

Depends on which one strikes your fancy most.

Collectors pieces would be the early years (if you can get 'em and if
you have a ton of money) 53, 54, 55.

the 63 corvette C2 had a split rear window and is considered rare and
collectible.

the Stingray C3's early years are the most collectible 68, 69, 70. Make
sure they have the 427 engine or a big block. Worth more.

The 80s 90's and the new ones are not collectibles yet.
Unless you want to steal the only remaining '83 from the corvette
museum. haha..

The original Corvette was a British warship. Has proven to be
difficult for collectors to fit in most garages. Engine overhauls
are a bitch.

Actually that's not quite true. The first corvette class ships of the
late 18th and early 19th century were wooden sailing ships and had
little to do with the British. Engine overhaul was just a breath mint,
and needless to say there was no such thing as a garage. The French
had the fastest ones, (French steam corvette Dupleix 1856/1887), that
took very little blow to get it to go fast backward. Steam power was
added because the crew thought it sucked to blow.
