What a backwards move. At least Imus had two brain cells to rub
together. Scarborough is as dumb as a rock.

I just haven't found it necessary to comment on

yep, what a dumb thing to do

He fell out of favor with his piss-poor management of his gaffe. Or
actually, the gaffe itself. I'd never talk that way around my little
one. Quite inexcusable I fear, if the punishment was equally
inexcusable.

Obama would liken him to "the crazy uncle... you flinch when he opens
his mouth sometimes, but you don't disown him because he is family"

*ahem*

It was bound to happen. A shame though, not many loudmouth crumudgeon
liberals around these days. Not a bit ironic how he went down though,
that's megalomania for you. Not many are immune from that
malfunction.

Ratings. No one listens to liberal talk shows. Joe Scarborough is a
move in to the mainstream for MSNBC.

A little more was involved than just saying 'ho.' I believe he said
'nappy headed ho's' in reference to African American women on a
basketball team. I think maybe had he said 'ho' he'd of gotten away
with it. I think his derogatory reference to 'nappy headed ho's' in
reference to their 'hair style' is what got him in hot water.

Mr. SteveO

I say it's the other way around. "Nappy" isn't really considered an
insult - our hair, in its natural state, *is* nappy. It was the 'ho' that
got him in trouble, because it suggested that black women, even those
attending a top-flight university, were nothing more than sluts.

Having said that, though, I thought Imus was overly punished. He apologized
to the women he insulted; they accepted. That should have been the end of
it, IMO.

Natalie, nicknamed "Nappy Nat" as a child (yes, it scarred me)

I have been listening to Imus for a long, long time, living here in NJ. A
long time. The funny Imus turned into the excellent interviewer Imus, still
with a bit of shtick thrown in and some fun sounding crotchetiness, although
Bernard McJerk was infuriating. It was Bernard that actually said the
fateful phrase, Imus then repeated it.

I was saddened when the networks caved into their overreaction. He and the
Rev Al have been at each other for a long time, with Imus seeing right
through him.

What we have now on the Imus show is sad. I only listen to it in short bits
anymore. The new supporting cast that he had to take on is really lame and
I cringe when they feel they must chime in. Sad.

There's also (Jim) Quinn and Rose (don't know her last name) - see
www.warroom.com - they do XM 158 as well as some local talk stations in
the mornings - they are my drive-to-work crew.
