Post subject: media blasting/dipping question in the Dallas area
Archived from groups: alt>autos>rod-n-custom (more info?)

I have a couple front fenders and a complete hood assembly (including sides)
for a 37 Chevy 2 door sedan. Both need some metal work but I wanted to get
them stripped before starting. I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area and
was wondering if anybody could recommend a local company. Are there still
companies that dip the metal to strip it versus sandblasting or media
blasting? Are there any disadvantages to either process? I called a media
blasting company that was advertising on the web and they wanted $500 to do
my parts. $500 will buy a lot of elbow grease but maybe that is what it
costs. Does that sound out of line for media blasting? Is dipping less
expensive and is it as effective?

thanks
