hi all im new here, ive got a 1997 v70 2.4t awd and recently done the head gasket. and when i finished the job ran car for a bit to get to workin temp to make sure everythin was all good. and it was too my suprise..
but then i noticed lots of oil coming out a hole in spark plug compartment, read on forums like this 1 that the culprit was pcv unit and hoses, so i proceeded to strip that out and i noticed hoses were either snapped or missing and unit was all gunky. so i cleaned unit well and replaced broken and missing hoses. wen i put it back together and ran again, to my disgust i still had major leak and developed irratic idle and smokey as hell, but it turned out i put hoses on wrong way. so stripped again and swapped hoses round. no smoke and idles great!!!
but still have oil leak from original hole in spak plug compartment. apparently on older cars like 850`s it was a air intake, something to do with exhaust gases???? but in v70`s was just a hole in the cam cover doing nothing. the car ran fine before with no leaks, it does still run fine but with major leak and i now have no idea wot is going on or how to ammend problem..... please help someone. cheers Anton
