What does everyone do for storage and organizing in their garages
,workshops and even the basements. What kind of stuff do you use to help
organize and store ,the old standbye thats been around for years is the
coffee can for your bolts and nuts and other fasteners, one new idea I
did for a friend was take the coffee cans and pop riveted a tag I had
made from pop cans (old steel type)and engraved the size and type of
fastener on them ,cheap but more reliable and durable then a piece of
tape and marker .
So what have you all got that may help us less organized be more
organized on the cheap. Any and all types of items and materials can be
helpful.

went into one of those indoor salvage yards once a few years back and
they were using the old endcaps with old bearings in place off engine
blocks bolted to short pieces of 2x6's to hold cranks ,and used old
heavy pick-up axles bolted backwards to tire and rims standing straight
up and used those to store their collection of rotors all the same type
on the same axle.
keep the ideas coming .

A friend of mine is a Snap On rep, and I went into his truck and saw
all the sockets and wrenches stuck to 24" bar magnets. He cut me a
deal on a handful of them, and I mounted a few in my garage. Easy to
store wrenches and sockets, plus you see what's missing at cleanup.

Plus I have a loose one to catch the wrenches as I use them.

This is one of those threads that should be cross posted to a hundred
car groups that could go on forever and all could benefit. Cudos and
keep the ideas coming...

Well here's something I went to look at a piece of equipment to purchase
this pat weekend and what I saw was in this guys shop was pretty neat
,he had made his blast cabinet so it was put on a some sort of lift
table that he can drop down and roll under his work bench to get it out
of the way and he showed me his parts cleaner that he had mounted to a
55 gal.barrel that was cut in half and put on a barrel roller so he can
also put it put of the way under his work bench and he showed a post he
mounted to his floor that he can switch from a polisher to his grinding
wheel to a bench top english wheel power hammer and a metal shrinker and
stretcher including an extra little workbench that is all stored away
when not in use and I was very impressed one post and he can fabricate
just about anything he needed or wanted ,and what I went to see was a
welder he had but it was too old and needed a couple parts that he said
he had a time trying to find, but overall I was very impressed by his use
of space in a 2 car garage. and his bike project was pretty cool too.
