When you are asking questions related to your car, it could be easier to
answer, if you post the first digits of the chassis number.
This is a great help because MB uses a coding system that is described in:

http://www.mercedesbenzregistroitalia.it/esemplari.htm#Decifrazioni

Unfortunately, the description is in Italian language. But you might
find it useful and relatively easy to understand.
FOR YOUR SAFETY DON'T POST THE WHOLE NUMBER. Skip the last 4-6 digits.

An essential lexikon:
Cambio = Gearbox
Benzina = Petrol
Significato = Meaning
Telaio = Chassis
Motore = Engine
(*) From 1953 until 1959, if the last digit of the chassis is "1", the
car was including factory installed tissue sliding roof.
