Post subject: help with car cover ideas
Archived from groups: alt>autos (more info?)

Hey guys,
I'm new to this here forum, but I was hoping to get some help finding a
cover for my car. Sadly, my house doesn't have a garage, so I need to find
something to keep the weather away and the birds from bombing my car. What
I'd like to find would be something that looks nice, not like a circus
tent sitting in my yard. So far I haven't looked at much, but I have seen
the carport/cover that Duraports makes (www duraports dot com, I believe),
and it looks good; it's only got two supports holding the whole thing up.
So, does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions/ideas as far as what
you've used that works, what doesn't, that kind of thing? An actual car
port of some kind would be good because then I could work under it, too,
but I'm open to whatever info I can get. Thanks!

That Duraport you site doesn't look like it would take much wind to sail away.
For what it's worth, my local municipality just sent a flyer around stating that none of those carports meet the building code and must be removed.
I suggest a regular car cover. The extra protection is worth the effort in using it.
