Post subject: please help 1999 elantra battery dead.

Hello Group
I just picked up a 1999 elantra and the car ran great for 2-3 days, then this morning as a approached the car. I could hear something running, sounded like the fan, but was not.
I unlocked the car and opened the door and the noise stopped, but the battery was almost dead. I assume something is shorting out. can anyone help me?
The noise (battery draining) would stop and start as I pressed the drivers door switch.
Thanks, Turk :
