2000 Blazer.... gas tank gets to half a tank and the needle bounces around
erratically never giving me an accurate level. What's up with that?

the sending unit is bad in your gas tank-that's what's up with it.
The sending unit IS available by itself which isn't what all believe
but it is. Drop the tank-change the sender or use the trip or do
nothing and fill it up at half tank which is a good practice anyways.
good luck jp

I can't do this myself, and my chevy dealer has proven to be cheaper
than the small mechanics in my small town. Sounds like the labor is
what will kill me with this, right? I'm going to the dealer Saturday
to have hub bearing work, I'll inquire. But I have been doing the
reset trip for 5 months now. It's just a little trickier in winter
using 4x4, and my remote start, sucks the gas faster and I can't rely
on the trip as well.

plus if I ever want to sell the truck, who would buy it with this
problem? I'd have to disclose it to them.
