Post subject: Rrolls Royce engine numbers
Archived from groups: alt>autos>rolls-royce-bentley (more info?)

I have acquired an engine and can not place all the engine numbers. SYL9241
I understand the S means standard steel Y I have no idea L means long
wheelbase 9241 is serial number which would put this engine a 6 3/4 liter.
Please inform me what the Y means and the others if I am guessing wrong.
Thanks
Danny
