I am almost ready to start work on the engine I am going to rebuild. I am
planning on warming it up some. I have bought some of the glyptic paint for
painting on the inside the engine. I know I should paint the valley between
the banks, but where else should I paint ? Behind the front cover ? The
block above where the crankshaft bolts in ? Is there anuwhere else ?

Every non-mating surface.
The purpose of the paint is to seal the pores in the cast iron as well as to
promote oil runback without trapping small contaminants.
Squeaky clean and dry just before painting...and paint it right away after
cleaning.

As Jeff said: "squeeky clean". I saw one engine where it was not as
clean as intended. The paint came off in sheets and plugged the oil
pickup screen. Needless to say the engine was ruined from that point
on.
