Nope. Sorry I didn't respond earlier. It was, in fact, the dimmer circuit that was fried. I had to pull the dash and replace the dimmer circuit with one that I picked up on ebay for $25.00. To pull the dash, start with the two screws at the top of the instrument panel and begin slowly and gently prying the plastic away from the dash. As you go you will encounter other screws that are "hidden" (not visible until you begin prying the plastic away from the dash) In particular, there is one screw that you will most likely need a right angle screw driver to remove. In any case, there are about 5 screws in all that need to be removed, then you can pull the plastic away from the dash and slip the new dimmer circuit into place and connect it.
An easy way to have avoided this problem in the first place would have been to either tape off all the wires before beginning the installation and then untape them one at a time as you reconnect them, or to use a preconfiigured wiring harness that you purchase with your new stereo. The problem was undoubtedly caused by my carelessly shorting one of the "unused" wires and blowing the dimmer circuit.
Hope this helps,
Mark
