I have a bunch of those wants myself. Expensive, time consuming, and not
gonna happen.

Messing up beyond all belief. You saw the imploded bowl float, right?
Wierd. Unusual, right? Well it's like that all the time here!
Last week I was working on rebuilding the big enlarger (photo enlarger,
gutter brain) and singing a song of joy against the devil of digital
photography when the base slipped and crashed into my turntable.
Yah. It's like that all the time. >> Stay informed about: FA; My "near the barn" find |

In front of the engine. Front is front.
I've got one setup with an electric pump at the fuel tank. (and keep a
spare pump in the glove box.) >> Stay informed about: FA; My "near the barn" find |

With the filter up front, you're much less likely to have fuel spraying
on the hot exhaust at the rear of the car. You do realize these are rear
engine cars? >> Stay informed about: FA; My "near the barn" find |

A decent filter is less likely to pull off than the standard hose to
through the firewall. Risk is low. Regardless, if there were a leak it
is safer in front of the engine. When it is inside the hood area the gas
will flow as a pool and accumulate before it catches on fire, thereby
making one heck of a fire. >> Stay informed about: FA; My "near the barn" find |

you are aware of the placement of the fuel tank on a type 2?(which the
poster inquired to) >> Stay informed about: FA; My "near the barn" find |
