| Antipolution Fault on Peugeot 2 Litre hdi Y Reg estate. had New catalitic coverter and ECU fitted and Antipolution fault has appeared again. Back in garage for 3rd time. Sometime feels like fuel starvation around 80 mph they also cleaned injectors. Nothing seems to work, any ideas? Thanks.

Hi and thanks. I'll try to find out what the code was but I believe it showed a wireing fault and the voltage was fluctuating on the original ecu if thats any help.
Kind regards.

HI, I'll try to get the code but if it's of any use the orginal ecu showed a wireing fault and the local garage that tested it said it fluctuated on the voltage.
Kind regards,

i wouldn't like to deal with the garage you go to!!!
if the ecu said there was a wiring fault then why did they change the cat and the ecu???
sounds like a case of lets fit it and see if it works.
if you get the fault code recorded then i will try and help. >> Stay informed about: anybody needing help? |

Thanks for last message,
The code that appeared on original ecu was 1614 (control unit voltage sensor) and 1 & 2 throtle position sensor. The garage are running it at the moment and the fault hasn't appeared again as yet. Any thoughts would be most helpfull.
Kind Regards

I hope maybe you'll be able to help, everyone else seems to be stumped.
P Reg 406 TD LX -intermittent problems with immobiliser/pump
It seems that this is basically an immobiliser problem. It first started with the keypad showing up red and green lights (error) and the car refusing to accept my code or to start. The first time this happened I turned off the ignition and left it for about 5 mins, came back to it and it started, no problems.
So I thought that was the end of the matter and that it was a one off.
The next day however it happened again, and I ended up being towed to the dealer.
They took about two days to "fix" it and charged me 180 as i said. Basically by the looks of things they replaced the plug that connects with the back of the keypad along with some of the wiring.
So I went to pick it up, forked over the cash and drove off into town. I stopped at a shop to get something and when I came back to the car, It wouldn't start and again was showing the "error" lights.
So I called the dealer and they sent out a mechanic to have a look, he seemed stumped, couldnt get the car started so suggested that I get the car towed back to the garage and that they would have a look the next day.
Thankfully they gave me a courtesy car this time as it took them another two days to come to the conclusion that "it must be the fuel pump because we've checked everything else". They said that they do not deal with the fuel pump (injector pump?) and refered me to another garage where I was quoted anything up to 700 to fix the problem (replace pump). I decided to get the car towed home and see if I could do anything else as I felt as if I was just being fobbed off.
When I got the car home, just on the off-chance, I tried putting in the code and it worked!! I managed to start the car!! I immediately unplugged the keypad (which is suppoosed to bypass the immobiliser system), switched off and tried again and managed to start it again a couple of times. So I thought that was the problem solved. When I came to go to work the next day the car wouldn't start again!
I'm really getting to my wit's end with this! Is there another way to bypass the immobiliser? I heard something about doing some wiring which will trick the ecu on the fuel pump into thinking it's done it's job? Is that possible? Rolling Eyes
Any suggestions and help would be really appreciated as I can't work until I get this car working!
I've read through the previous six month's posts and some of you guys are really good, I have high hopes!
Thanks in advance.

for dusty 369
i''ll check the code, may take to next week!!
as for the throttle position sensor fault that is a earth problem.
to cure this you need to cut wires at pins 3 and 6 of the air flow meter.
tape and sit out the way the wires going into loom.
cut the wires about 6 inches away from connector.
fit new wiring to connector straight to an earth point at n/s/f wing with eyelet connectors.
this fault is caused by various sensors being earthed through the engine ecu
e.g air flow sensor, throttle sensor, etc. so the best cure for this is to take the components straight to earth instead of going through ecu.
i'll get back to you on fault code. >> Stay informed about: anybody needing help? |

for kookopola
the immobilser will be getting activated by the wiring fault that thay haven't found. the keypad is the most obvious one. 80 percent chance that they haven't found the one under the battery tray. most cases of this fault is there. on the other hand it could be a botched wiring job.
remove the battery and tray, open up wiring loom and check the small purple and grey wires for any signs of green corosion. may take a bit of finding.
if wires are ok then check both large connectors under air filter housing. >> Stay informed about: anybody needing help? |

Hi.
I wonder if you can help me please, i had a problem with my 99, 306 sedan, allthough today after a long run it seems to be reappearing again.
At first the car would over rev, and when travelling if you take your foot off the accelerator it would kangaroo, or jerk forward and back. I had a mechanic look at it and he said it was the ECU, so i took it back to were i bought it from and they said they would fix it. Apparently it was sent to a the local dealer. When i got it back it seemed fine, ticking over nicely at just under 1000 revs and with the air con on 1000 revs, now after only a week it seems to be coming back again, not as bad granted, but today after a long journey, it started to jerk again when slowing down, sometimes 2 or 3 times, as soon as i took my foot of the accelerator. The revs are still holding at below 1000 on tick over, but im wondering if its anything to do with the Air con as i had this on for the entire journey. It also went in for the noisy back axle when reversing, they told me this was normal on peugeots, this cant be right surely!!!
Many thanks in advance for any info, im trying to sell the car so we can return to the UK so i really need to get this sorted.
