Mind mapping, Anyway pondering putting a turbo on a 350 SBC to run 6-8
lbs boost. Car daily driver, high gears, 3.07 and turbo 350, 3000+
pounds. Occasional romps to 5500, not a hotrod (gas cost these days)
Can anyone recommend a turbo size that will fit the requirements of
adding boost over the 2500 to 5500 rpm range. Flow charts give me a
headache. The components I plan to build, its just what the heck size
turbo will best do what I want.
Thanks

This will be a brief answer...
The turbo I have use over the years [ twins and singles ] is Turbonetics TO4
H3 .. new they are about 700US .. used you should be able to get one for
less than half that .
The H3 is good for over 500hp , use a 69 turbine housing or possibly an 81
depending on how quick you want the turbo to spool up , you said you only
want low to medium boost so a hi flow turbine [ ie:big ] is not needed.
You did not say what kind of power you want but on a CHV 350 with aprox.
275 base n/a hp ,with 6-8lbs of boost you should be able to make over
350-400hp , you may want to consider an intercooler if you are going to be
around the 8psi or up mark .
If you want to get trick , you can also use a couple of small dodge 2.2
turbos and thier intercoolers, they will also make 400+hp no problem and
will probably spool up quicker than an equal hp'd single turbo.
Make sure you have the fuel system sorted out "before" you start.. it is a
substantial part of the project and is equally if not more important than
the rest.. bad fuel delivery .. = blown motor .

Good luck.
Dave.
