The malfunction indicator lamp (engine light) in my 2002 Rav4 came on
yesterday. I checked and the gas cap was on tight. I am on vacation and I
have been doing a lot of low-speed driving on dusty gravel roads. I would
like to avoid the time and cost of a trip to the dealership at least until I
get home. Can anyone suggest the source of the engine light?

The vehicle seems to be running properly and all of the fluid levels look
good.

Thanks,
Jack

My problem with the light turned out to be a bad catalytic converter.
Fortunately, The RAV4 Cat is covered up to 80,000 miles !!! Wink))
