I've gone to every Friday night event at the track, originally with reserved
seating which could be on either side of the track. About 3 years ago, pit
side became reserve, parking lot side general admission. I quickly saw the
value in this, when the last pair goes down the track, and if you want to
exit quick, you're a lot closer to the cars. Also, the track points east,
so you're north of the track, a cap with a bill will help, but for the night
runs things are great.
So for me, general admission it is.
I've never gone on the weekends, I'm sure it's a madhouse, but that's why I
go on Friday. Track food is track food is track food, and you can't bring
yours in. But if you plan right, you can hike back to your car and save a
lot of dough on food, drinks, and beers.
When you leave at night, state troopers send you out in the direction of
I-80, in one of 2 directions depending on the exit you use.
Good luck, and have fun.
