Archived from groups: alt>autos>gm>olds-cutlass, others (more info?)

I've got a 1986 Toronado which I recently inherited from my father, and ever
since I can remember theres been a B337 Current code in diagnostics that the
local firestone mechanics have been unable to fix. i recently purchased the
service manual to this beauty, and i've traced it down to the missing ALDL
cap. From reading the service manual, the missing cap has a jumper vital to
serial communications

Now down to the real question.

The ALDL cable has a yellow wire with a black recessed connector. do i need
to place a jumper on the L and M contacts of the connect, and link it to the
yellow cable? i've been unable to figure this out, since the manual does
not say what the fuction of this yellow cable does. i am thinking that it
is apart of the missing ALDL Cover, but i have never seen an ALDL cover so i
am unsure.

Thanks,
Mike G.

Go here <a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://www.toronado.net/" target="_blank">http://www.toronado.net/</a> join the mail list. There are a lot of us
gen IV owners. Ask your question there and you will get it answered. Might
even find someone who can send you an ALDL cap.
There are links you can get to all sorts of info on all Toronados.
