For reasons unknown I stopped by a Pontiac dealer today. They have the
new 2006 2 door G6 GT V6 in stock along with some 05 four doors.

The new for 2006 GM Logo appears on both front doors just ahead of the
body side molding. Its a little chrome plate with the letters GM with a
line under the letters stamped into the 1" square plate.

You better have good eyes to read it if your stopped next to a car
equipped with it.

Also noted that the 06' G6's had a painted charcoal colored steel wire
mesh split grille, not plastic.

The window sticker was absent from the lone two door on the lot.

The two door G6 GT V6 script across the back stands out better than the
05. The letters are thick chrome plated lettering unlike the flat rubber
letter used previously.

I just stopped by the Pontiac dealer and one of the four-door G6's had the
GM logo. It looks really cheap and plasticy.

What looked really cheap and plasticy - the new logo, the four-door G6, or
the Pontiac dealer?

Cheers - Jonathan

Not a Pontiac or GM fan (or for that matter a US car fan), I have to
take a moment to rave about the G6.

I am presently on vacation and renting a G6 V6. As a long-time Honda
owner, current owner of a 2004 Accord 4cyl, I have to say the this new
Pontiac is fantastic. It is everything our Accord is and more and so
different than any US car I have ever driven. It is smooth, roomy,
comfortable, quiet, good looking, quick, stable and a blast to drive.
In each catagory it is a match or better than the Accord.

If this is what GM is going to produce in the future, I would be happy
to buy American.
