Any advice on stanza L16 engine replacement options??

Hey all,

I have an 82 stanza GL, with an L16S-A engine/ 3spd auto trans. Not too
much trouble with the engine, bit of oil coming out around the front of
the head but other than that quite stable. I am however pondering
putting a bit of extra grunt in, along with something from the fuel
injected era, and I really have no idea where to start or what types of
engines to look for.

Basically I want an engine that I can put in that runs on unleaded
rather than needing Premium plus the lead replacement additive, also
one that is not distributed. Are there any decent possibilities that
will be a relatively easy fit that won't cost me a heap of money in
terms of fit modifications??
