Are the scuff plates for a Speedster different than the other 55 coupes?
Thanks for any/all leads.
Regards,
Jim

All 1953-56 Studebaker C & K bodies used the same scuff plate
regardless of model or series. The repros available were thicker
etched stainless compared to the original stamped units. They dont fit
as well, yes, but newer repros have just come available that are also
stamped like the originals. They are markedly more pricey and I have
never attempted to fit a pair. They are available thru Studebaker
International.

All 1953-1956 Coupes and Hardtops used the same scuff plates. Original NOS are rare (forgeddaboudit) and I picked up a pair at York 10 years ago for $200 (OUCH)! The repros previously available are thicker and ethced, not stamped like the originals, and do not fit as well as desired. A new reproduction has been tooled to be more correct, stamped and of a more color matched stainless. I have never seen a pair in the flesh but will expect to at Spokane. They are retailed by Studebaker International and sell around that same $200. Alternaitvely you can have your originals restored but the cost may be more depending on condition.

I looked at your Speedster yesterday Jim....
It's under a nice, soft comfy car cover...
