Post subject: accelerating power loss. PLEASE HELP!!

i have a 93 chev lumina. when i press the gas a little, it starts to accelerate slowwly as expected, but there is a point when pressing the gas further that the power significantly starts to cuts out. i just replaced the fuel filter, and am desperate for working transportation. please help me!!
