Hello, Is there anyone who can help me with the following problem, i bought the xj8 with a mechanical fault in the engine [non runner] trailered the car home, now repaired. i came to start the car with the one key only given to me by previous owner, everthing lights up and works, but engine wont turn over, the car as been stood for 5 months with the battery disconnected and flat, battery now charged and healthy, it wont come out of park when foot brake is applied, the immobilser light does not go out on the centre console, i was told to buy a key fob, so i did, tried to progrmme it to the car but cant get it to work, the central locking, boot, and headlights wont work from the key fob ive bought, but all work manually, when i unlock the doors with the key the immobiliser light stays on, i have had the key and fob to a auto electrican who says they are both working fine, but the car and key and fob do not seam to be compatable, jaguar have been no help at all, all replys gratfully accepted, help please i am stuck, or buy the damn car, thank you Dave.
