Fresh out of college, young Winston used his mother's connections to get a
War Correspondent designation, and went free-lancing to the Boer War. He
became separated from a patrol, lay down in a farm wagon for a midday nap,
and was captured by a Boer party. The wagon was a Studebaker.

There was a Harold Churchill who was reputed to own several Studebakers.
And their cousin Ward posts under a nom de guerre on the NG.

Interestingly enough, one of the leading sources of Churchillian
literature and other items in the USA has been a SDC member for about
forty years.
(For those who think they know, the middle initial is M.)
