I have to admit I didn't see that coming at all. I wonder who bought
the seat?

And he's been behaving this year, right.

So, Power's locked in the Matco money and doesn't need Whit or what? The
business machine rolls on....

Who'd be shocked if he filled in for John Force?

Yeah, it seems Whit lost the Matco money too. I wouldn't be shocked if
he's driving a Castrol car in the near future. A friend of mine who had
injuries similar to Force's, but about 25 years younger when he got hurt
says he would be shocked as hell if Force is really ready to go by the
start of next season. He might drive, but he's not going to really be
ready. Whit might get some good seat time out of it.

I recently fell and banged my knee very badly, and the orthopedic doc
told me that it would be six months minimum, before it's "gone", maybe
up to a year. I didn't even break anything, but it really was bad, the
worst thing that ever happened to me.

Anyone want to bet some money that J. R. Todd doesn't end up in the MATCO
Dragster at the next race? Seems he should be getting a little PO'd because
of the crew changes this year.....................just my opinion.

As much as I dislike NitWhit for a multitude of reasons, and as much as
I see your point, I personally can't lump him in with the likes of
Michael Vick. NitWhit has actually had a fair amount of success in his
driving career (likewise his photography career), and to my personal
knowledge he's never been involved in any type of criminal behavior.
Negligent, dangerous, disrespectful, unprofessional, boorish,
childish... yes; criminal no.

As for him getting in a JFR car in any capacity, I wouldn't expect it,
but I wouldn't rule it out either. I know for a fact that the
applications well at JFR is a very deep one, and off the top of my head
I can think of a number of drivers that I could see them hiring ahead of
NitWhit IF(!) there was an opening. On the other hand, nothing that
happens in our sport really surprises me any more.

Professionally speaking, John Force is nothing if not devoted to his
fans, employees, and sponsors. He doesn't open his mouth without
mentioning any or all of them, and to me that's one of the things that
sets him apart from most drivers and owners. He understands that without
EVERYONE'S involvement he would still be just another guy looking for a
chance to show what he can do. In that light, NitWhit would be a
terrible fit in my opinion, because from what I've seen and heard from
him over the years he simply doesn't 'get it'.

One last thing: As unlikely as it may seem coming from me, I feel a
certain amount of sympathy and compassion for NitWhit right now. I've
found myself without a job a few times in my life, as I imagine many
reading this have, so I know what it's like. As much distaste as I have
for him, I hope he is able to land on his feet and be able to provide
for himself and his loved ones.

I haven't followed drag racing long but I do know drag racing fans most
definitely do not like Bazemore. It's like, in order of seriousness:
rape, murder, treason, Bazemore! lol

What oh what did this guy do to tick off so many fans?

I thought this year he has been very well behaved in front of the camera.
Almost likeable for a change. Didn't see anything wrong with his driving,
especially being his first season in top fuel. Maybe his mouth got him in
trouble behind the scene......

He's only driving the last 2 races and is not a candidate for the full time
job.

I'm sure there has already been a deal worked out, or there soon will be
for whoever will be the driver next year. I guess they will announce at
Pomona.

Do people remember what a DICK Don Prudhomme was 30 years ago? This was
when he was the FC master, and still dominating FC. Not as dominate as
he was the two years previously, but still the car to beat.

Whit is a pussycat compared to how "intense" he used to be.

And nobody seemed to have any problem with him being that way. He's sure
mellowed over the years though. People grow up, etc.

I think part of it is just Whit's voice, he's a "throat talker" and it
gets a bad reaction from some people.
