Volvo V70 Air Con fault - help plse

Hi - have a 2000 registered Volvo V70 - recently when i put the cooling/heating on inside its starts then after a second it stops and both the off and recirculation buttons flash as if indicating a fault - any ideas what the problem is please

I had the same problem and it was traced to the blower fan drawing too much current and was being shut down. This was caused by the pollen filter not being changed every 12 months causing restricted air flow and a strain on the motor. Blower motor had to be replaced.
