Volvo 940 Turbo

Volvo 940 turbo 1996, M90 gearbox. Anybody who knows what type of oil to use? I asked Volvo, and they came up with a specific volvo number. A very expensive oil, costs almost half of my left arm... Any better suggestion? -- Regards Knut
« I'd just dump some Redline MTL in there, it'll work fine. They claim it's acceptable to use in *any* manual gearbox. I've been running it in my M46's for years, surprisingly it made shifting notic.. »

My 940 Turbo Celebration (1998, 160Kmiles)) has a very noisy engine, and I think ineed to bite the bullet and get another one. (it was noisy when I bought it and sounded like tappets, but it isn't and it's gradually getting worse - suspect either a big or little end) The engine type is a B230..

« Hi Steve! Both engines use the same ECU (Bosch LH 2.4), they use the same turbo, same exhaust etc and were sold for the same price here in germany. The difference is the bypass valve on the turbo.. »

Update to a previous question. My turbo unit is working but I am not getting the speed I used to out of the car. When the turbo is engaged I can hear a intermitent whooshing sound. Following on from previous advice I fitted a new induction pipe leading from the air mass meter to the turbo. Tried i..
