Just got two new tyres this morning and asked the dealer to check all wheels (rims) for running true. He later told me that a couple of wheels (rims) had 'dents' and so he only fitted the best of the 5 rims. I haven't had a chance to test the car yet to see if the vibration has gone.
The reported vibration only started to happen 'over night'. It did not start 'small' and get worse. It also appeared to start after I moved the rear wheels to the front and the front to the back (rotation of wheels to balance tyre wear). This could have been just a coincidence but it does seem strange that the vibration was noticed immediately after the wheels were changed around.
I would have thought that if the vibration is caused by wheels out of alignment then the problem would have progressively got worse instead starting 'overnight'.
Thanks for your thoughts and reply.
