Should be a great trip for you. A real climate change that's for sure.
Make sure you drink water all the time, it's still going to be hot in
the daytime, and you can, and I have in the past, get into trouble if
you don't drink enough.

Vegas this time of year is odd, it can be really hot during the day,
then as soon as the sun drops behind the mountains, it will start
getting cold, and by morning, it will be very unpleasant.

I went to a race when I was young and dumb at the now gone Ontario Motor
Speedway on either Xmas eve or New Year's eve, can't remember now, and
it was pretty pleasant until about 7PM, and it got downright horribly
cold by 8. I went and bought several LA Times newspapers out of a
vending machine and put them under my coat to try to keep warm. If you
like pedalfests, that was the race for you, I don't think anyone ever
made a full pass at that race.

At Irwindale once it didn't seem that cold. I was sitting in the front
row of the stands and there was a rail that went in front of them to
keep people from falling off, and I held onto it, and it pulled all the
heat out of my hands, and I could barely drive to the motel afterwards.
The pain was amazingly bad. My hands haven't been the same since, and
that was about 30 years ago!
