V70 keyfob locking problem

Just returned from an evening out and now the car won't lock with the remote
keyfob. Tried the spare and that doesn't work either.

The car is a V70 2003 - D5

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

If you open the car and start the engine with the key this may reset the
receiver/lock unit(?) Just a guess...

Of course you can try changing the batteries in the fobs in case they
both went dead...
