right my handbrake did work perfectly fine 110% couldnt get any better to be honest lol its a ford fiesta mark 4 (99) 1.25 zetec
the other day me and my dad changed my rear wheel bearings, obviously i had to take the outer drum off but didnt really need to touch the shoes other than to line them back up when i put the drum back on.
Since we have done that my handbrake no longer works "properly" it will hold it on flat ground or a slight hill but when i get to larger hills it dont hold the car at all. We have adjusted the cable and its nice and tight but still made no change, we then jacked the back of the car up so we could see if the main brakes worked, with the handbrake on i could turn the rear wheel by hand with a bit of effort, with my dad's foot on the brake pedal it wont budge so its obviously not a problem with the main braking system, like i say the cable is nice n tight and it does hold it slightly just not how it should am completely stumped as to what can cause that or how to fix it as the shoes are auto adjusted. and everything looks like its working the way it should shoes have plenty of meat to them etc... probably something im missing or not thought of but any ideas are going to be much appreciated
if your require more details please ask away
