Don't tell him Toyota's employee discount! They can move a lot of new
Tundras that way!

My golly, looking at that list makes me think they should rename the award
"The POS of the Year" award.
All the cars cited fall into that unfortunate category, plus some others
that Motor Trend has honored.
On reflection, though, perhaps they mean that the car named will only hold
up for a year.

I have to wonder whether the Cadillac Catera (which GM would love to disown
and forget about) might have qualified. Or maybe the Cadillac
Cimarron...remember that tarted up Chevy?
Ed's revealing information about the "you scratch my back and I'll pay you
off in full-page four color ads" procedure involved certainly pulls the wool
off our eyes.

I think I should build and market a car like a Crosley or King Midget and
then offer Motor Trend a bunch of folding green ad money. These folks at
MT seem not like ink stained wretches, but ink stained whores.

Too bad their dealers can't sell the truck. Brand new 2007 Tundra trucks
have been going over the Manheim auction blocks for two months as low as
25K!! Toyota is also dumping 2007 Solara coups and convertibles to the
rental car fleets a 3K under invoice to help keep the Accord from knocking
Camry from number one selling car

Honestly, I've been disappointed that Toyota has fallen prey to the same
issues that have historically plagued any manufacturer when it becomes
more popular. They ramp-up production to meet demand at the cost of
quality. I have no doubt Toyota will overcome this, but at present they
don't make a vehicle that I'd purchase.

-----------------

No manufacturer has a vehicle I'd purchase at 'this' moment. I like my
'01 J vin camry and I'd purchase a sienna from the ''97 to 2003 era.
That's about it..If the XB 2007 rode like a sienna/camry I'd buy one of
those..

--------------

Given these vehicles made the list, I can say my 1980 MGB (last year
made in US) should easily quailfy despite it's propensity to stall in
the middle of the George Washington Bridge (among other places) at
highway speeds...

Nothing like having a TT bearing down on your stalled (ant sized ) car
in the middle of commerce central.... I would have to wait until the
distributor (overheated- mounted too close to the engine) cooled enough
to restart it. It could take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. Hariy times
for a 20 year old..

Given this list, no doubt, it was a car of the year candidate, since it
was a champ except for that MINOR detail...

Monza....?

MT selection is not a comparison of all of the models built that year. To
be considered for the award it must be an 'all new' models for the year
issued. The year the Doge Ram truck won it was the only new model and won
by default. Wink
