Does anyone know if a 86 transmission will fit properly (function) on
a 84 944? If it does fit is there a way to use the speedometer
function off the newer transmission? Last question is there any
affordable quality work 944 transmission rebuilders in the northern
virginia that you can recommend. Thanks

I would recommend Autothority in Fairfax, Virginia. They race
Porsches, make the famous computer chip and are expert mechanics.
