Archived from groups: alt>autos>ferrari (more info?)

After being stored in the garage for winter for the past 5 months, I
took the 308 out today. It rained like a monsoon yesterday, so I
figured the salt and sand washed away.

The car ran great. Was out about two hours early, when there weren't
many other people on the road. Mix of street (light to light) and
highway driving. Very exhilirating, and the car loved it.

It's been 5 years since my last major, I need to start planning for a
belt change.

Figured I'd actually post something about Ferrari here, as most of
what I read on this ng is just drivel. What the hec happened during
my absence? Where is everyone? Paul get's married, and the whole
place goes to the lurkers. What ever happened to Speaker?

Tiger, I saw you on FChat, welcome. NIce bunch over there. I rode
with the NYC crew not too long ago, a bunch of guys with 360s -
amazing car, a couple 308s, and a guy with a 355. To see all the cars
lined up, and then drive through NYC, it was something.

Anyway,
Phil

Congrats! I still haven't taken care of the service on my car, so it's
my own damn fault I haven't been able to drive it lately.

We were just getting used to the drivel. Ferrari stuff will only
confuse us.

You were gone! We were grieving! What did you expect of us?

Good question. I'm sure it's EuroPaul's fault.

Thanx! There seems to be some good guys posting. There are, of course,
the usual bunch of 14 yr old boys too. I weep for their wives and
daughters. Speaking of which! How's your family?

Family is well. My oldest is off to college in the fall. Still
waiting on 4 more responses, so far he's 2 for 2 - Poly Tech
Rennsalier and Binhampton. We'll see. Everone else is doing fine,
Rosemary is looking for a new ride, torn between opposite ends of the
spectrum, but at least they are both German - a new Beetle convertible
and a Bimmer 3 series truck. We'll see what happens, I'm just happy
we are out of the mini-van stage, 9 years of that is enough.

I'm in the forgotten NYC burb - the Island Of Staten. I've brought
the car to Onofrio (Frank) over at Classic Coach over the years. He's
a nice guy and they have a cool shop, with all those cars in storage
upstairs it's a sight. Plus that platinum colored F50 he has is just
superb. I really liked Serio - his hop mgr, he helped me alot when I
was sarting out, and even helped me search for a 308. But he's been
gone for 5 years or so now, since my last major. This time, I am
considering using Steve Arena, the guys on FChat speak highly of him.
I spoke to him a few times and he seems like a real nice guy also.

If you have other recommendations, let me know.

> Some of those NY F-chatters are frightful in print.

Yeah, they are a bit young, with too much money. And have the "bling"
thing going between the watches and other gadgets. But when I met
them, the few that were there were nice guys.

Yes, I think he was on the run they invited me to on 9/11 about 2
years ago. Not sure if I am envious of him, or grateful I'm out of
that "phase".

Where are you, where are planning to have that done?

I was out with a friend in his 308 yesterday, as well, banging around
post-deluvian mid-eastern Westchester co.

Some of those NY F-chatters are frightful in print.

I thought not.

Perhaps Mikal is back. I can only assume that he was to drunk to remember
that we know his name and address...

Not that I've noticed. I do have a large rabbit, does that count?

A bunny big enough to eat a small child most certainly does NOT count
as a "baby".
