What is the average price for installing a timing chain in a 98 Honda
Civec?(4dr,auto trans. air)
one shop said it depends if they have to take the water pump off, but about
450-500 dollars.

There is no timing chain on a Civic !
it works with a belt , here in canada, well at the place i work at, we
charge 250 $ for both belt and water pump replacement
