It certainly does not supercharge your car. One might speculate that the
device causes turbulence in the intake air and that this would somehow
affect performance. Traditionally the goal has been to put LESS
restrictions in the intake, not MORE. I'd rather spend my $70 on Cabbage
Patch Dolls or Pet Rocks.

Utter waste of money. It will have no effect other than perhaps restricting
your airflow, causing the opposite effect it claims it does.

Most modern cars are electronic fuel injection;the fuel does not mix with
the airflow until it enters the cylinder,so making the air intake more
turbulent will not achieve any better combustion. As others have noted, all
it does is add more restriction to the airflow;a negative effect.

I would add a cold air intake, you will get a few extra HP and it will
make your car sound good... I put an AEM Cold Air I bought from
hondasolutions.com for cheap and it is awesome. >> Stay informed about: SpiralMax... Too good to be true?? |

How many horsepower did the dyno show that your awesome Cold Air intake
created? >> Stay informed about: SpiralMax... Too good to be true?? |

Hmmm... Chris, you posted five messages here in the past 24 hours, every
single one of them touting how great hondasolutions.com is - rather
suspicious.

Honda Tuning Magazine did dyno and flow bench tests of CAIs for Acura
RSX.The dyno showed that the CAIs made 20 extra HP,and much more
torque, compared to stock, and short rams only made about 5 HP,and not much
extra torque. They also tested the K&N filter, which did nothing. They had a
great, comprehensive article complete with graphs of the tests.

Right guys, you confirmed my suspicion that the Spiralmax thing is a waste
of time, so I'm thinking of getting a cold air intake, but can't seem to
find one for my car (1999 Accord 2.0LSi auto trans).
Also, I posted here a while back regarding a supercharger for my car, but
didn't get many replies. I'm still considering this option as well. Is it
worth it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I suggest that you visit Barnes and Noble booksellers. See if they have a
book in stock named
Honda and Acura Performance Handbook by Mike Ancas
Buy it if you have the money or just read it. Take a note pad. Read
chapter 11 which is about superchargers and turbochargers. It may even
tell you where you can buy a supercharger kit. I know that Jackson Racing
makes the most popular one but I don't know their phone number. You might
try making use of a search engine to find their web sight. >> Stay informed about: SpiralMax... Too good to be true?? |

This was without exhaust or other engine mods,BTW.
The magazine has a website, and the article was there last time I looked, but
that was several months ago.
