My understanding is the internals are the same as the 49-53 blocks, although
higher compression, 7.2:1, but using the older bell housing design of the
32-
48 blocks. Also use 11 inch clutch. The only reason I even heard of them is
while stationed in Germany I had a couple Simca's. The beast was originally
Ford,
Ford of France was bought out by Simca in the 50's which in the 70's was
bought out by
Chrysler. I will add that the Simca brand were tough little cars, well
built, until Chrysler
started putting their fingers into the operation. By late 70's the car was
a shadow of its
self quality wise. The car the engines were in in the 50's looked like a
3/4 size '49 mercury.
The europeans were good at copying, Opel had a car looked like a 3/4 '56
Chevy
The paris-rhone generators are 24 volt. water pumps from truck engines work
as
replacements for the simca, the threads are metric on the engine. Last ones
were
manufactured somewhere in south America up untill the early 70's.
