Installed new car stereo in 97 Chev S-10, There were no adapter kits
available so I used a multi meter to configure
power, ground, speakers, stereo lights, etc.
It worked fine when I turned on the key.
When I turn on the lights the stereo dies. Could this be a grounding
wire problem ?
Does anyone have a easy fix for this ? >> Stay informed about: Screwy problem with new car stereo. 97 chevy S-10 |

Uhm...yes, there most definitely *are*. Scosche and Metra Electronics *both*
have wiring adapter kits for 1997 S-10s. It's better to wait and get the
proper adapter than it is to cut into the factory wiring.

Are you sure your stereo does in fact have a "light" connector? Very few of
them do. I have a strong feeling that this should be disconnected because it
isn't used.
