Post subject: Replacement "T" hose for 1995 2.0l Jetta
Archived from groups: rec>autos>makers>vw>watercooled (more info?)

OK. So the "T" hose on the side of the engine toward the front of the
car is toast. So you buy a new one. But the old one had a receptacle
for a temperature sensor and the new one does not. The original hose is
not available, even from VW. Now what?

Well, on the 1995 Jetta my son has, one moves the sensor to the fitting
on the rear (driver's side) of the cylinder head, where a plug used to
be. The wires reach. The sensor fits. It all works. Life is good.

(Now, for extra added credit, figure this out from your memory of the
stuff in the engine compartment and phone calls from your wife and son
who are frantic...)

Hope this helps someone else.
